Pet Heirloom Memorial Portrait
Getting Started
How do I create a portrait?
Open the App and tap to begin. Pick one clear photo of your pet, choose a style — oil, charcoal, or watercolor — and we'll paint it. There are no prompts to write and no account to create. Your portrait is ready in about thirty seconds.
Is my first portrait really free?
Yes. Your first portrait is free to preview, with a small watermark, so you can judge the likeness before paying a cent. If you love it, unlocking it removes the watermark and gives you the full-resolution, print-ready image.
What makes a good photo?
A clear, well-lit photo where your pet's face is visible and in focus gives the truest likeness. A casual phone snapshot is perfectly fine — we paint from your real photo. Very dark, blurry, or far-away photos are harder to work from.
Likeness & Styles
Will it actually look like my pet?
That is the whole point. Each portrait is painted from your actual photo to preserve their markings, face, and expression — not a generic pet of the same breed. Because it's a painted interpretation, it's stylized rather than a photographic copy. The free preview lets you confirm the likeness before you decide.
The likeness isn't quite right. What can I do?
You can regenerate your free preview until it feels right, and trying a different, clearer photo often helps most. Each style interprets your pet a little differently, so it's worth previewing oil, charcoal, and watercolor to see which one feels most like them.
What are the three styles?
Oil is warm and painterly, the classic framed look. Charcoal is quiet and tender, soft graphite tones. Watercolor is gentle and luminous. You can preview the same pet in each before choosing.
How long does it take?
About thirty seconds, in most cases — no weeks-long wait. If you have notifications enabled, we'll let you know the moment it's ready.
Your Photo & Privacy
What happens to the photo I upload?
To paint the portrait, your photo is sent to our AI rendering vendor (Replicate). Before it leaves your device, its location and EXIF data are stripped. It is never used to train AI, is never reviewed by a human, and is automatically deleted within 24 hours. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up, no email required, and no advertising. Your finished portraits are stored in the App's gallery on your device.
Purchases
What can I buy, and what's the difference?
Single Keepsake ($6.99, one-time): one HD, watermark-free portrait. Keepsake Pack ($12.99, one-time): five HD portraits — ideal for multiple pets or gifting. Pet Heirloom Unlimited ($29.99/year, 7-day free trial): unlimited (fair-use) portraits, seasonal style packs, and gifting credits. The Single and Pack are one-time charges, not subscriptions; only Unlimited renews.
Can I print my portrait?
Yes. Unlocked portraits are full-resolution and print-ready, with no watermark. Save the image to your Photos and print it at home or through any print service you like.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open Settings inside the App and tap "Restore Purchases". This re-applies any purchases made with your current Apple ID — for example, after reinstalling or on a new device.
How do I cancel Pet Heirloom Unlimited?
Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find Pet Heirloom and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. If you cancel during the 7-day free trial before it ends, you won't be charged.
I'd like a refund.
All purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and select the purchase. If something went wrong on our end, email us first — we'll do everything we can to make it right.
